It can be announced this evening that the club have appointed Eddie Barry as the new manager of the Reserve team.

Eddie will be taking the position as Reserve Team Manager from the 2022/23 season onwards, linking up with team coach Gareth Harrison. The club are excited about the future with Eddie joining the coaching team and pleased to welcome him on board.

'I was approached by the club regarding the reserve team managers position and went to meet them for discussions with an open mind. After speaking in more detail, I was really impressed by the ambition and passion of the people involved at the club. I also attended a meeting with all coaches from juniors to senior level and they all have a drive and commitment to bring the club forward in the future.'

Barry is fully immersed with the task ahead and keen to be inheriting an already triumphant group of players.

'I know the team had a very successful season last year, winning the league and narrowly losing cup final in extra time, so the expectations are high for next season. My aspiration is to match that or better it and with the people at the club placing their trust in me, I will give 100% to achieve that aim.'

In addition to the achievements of last season, Eddie has a one eye on the future of the club and recognises the talent amongst the younger players.

'As the under 19s also won their league last season, I am keen to help some of these young players progress to through the clubs structured pathway to the reserves, and onto the first team.
I can't wait to get started with the challenges ahead and would like to thank the club for giving me the opportunity.'

Everyone at the club would like to wish Eddie all the best in his new role and look forward to a future with him at the club.
