It can be announced this evening that the club have appointed Clive Davies as the new manager for the U19 Development Team.

Clive will be taking the position as Development Team Manager for the 2022/23 season, leading the group of youth players in the U19 Flintshire Junior League. The club are excited about the future development of the section under Clive’s supervision and pleased that he share’s a similar passion.

'I am looking forward to the opportunity and I am excited to get going with the Hawarden Development Team. I've spoken to the club in great detail about its history, structure and the philosophy to ensure the club has a clear pathway from the juniors, right up to the first team and I'm excited to be on this journey with such a highly rated, grassroots football club.'

Davies has a rich history of coaching at both grassroots and academy level and to have his knowledge and skillset within the club is a huge asset.

'I have been coaching as an outfield and goalkeeper coach for nearly 10 years. I started my journey at Aston Park Juniors in the Flintshire Youth league, before furthering my career at Cefn Druids as Academy Goalkeeper Coach. I progressed to assistant manager of their reserves prior to taking position in the first team as Head of Goalkeepers, during which time I gained lots of experiences working alongside several Welsh Premier League managers.'

Besides Clives considerable past, his present involvement in the game will also come of great value to the club.

‘Upon leaving my role at Druids, I’ve joined Ruthin Town as Head of Goalkeeper Coaching which has continued to support my learning under quality management. I have accepted this role at Hawarden to complement my current position and feel I can support the clubs younger players in furthering their progress, by honing their skills and improve their overall game knowledge and management within the Development Team.’

Clive will make an early start to his involvement by observing the squad in training and matches for the remainder of the current campaign. We would like to wish Clive all the best for his role in future and look forward to the progress anticipated.
