This week we caught up with Paul Atherton who along with coaches Ian Taylor and Mark Prive, run the U13 boys.

Paul has been involved with Hawarden Rangers as a manager for 8 years and is also a coach for the U7 boys and U9 girls!

“I spend most of my weekends on a football pitch somewhere… I’m also a member of Hawarden Executive committee.”

the coaching team…
We have two coaches in Ian Taylor and Mark Prive who have also been involved with Hawarden for a long time and are a massive support in running the team.

the focus of the side and recent success…
We have spent a lot of time this season on improving our passing and collectively protecting the ball. This is our second year at 9v9 and are looking forward to progress to 11 a side next year. Last season saw us finish second in the league and winning the cup final.

this season’s ambitions...
We’re all looking forward to the league and cup fixtures in the new year and hopeful of some more good results.
